Crypto Breadth to Depth

My current migration

Over the past five years I have explored the world of crypto, from Bitcoin to Ethereum, DeFi, NFTs, a multi-chain world, and layer 2s. While I have interacted with each of these areas, it hasn’t been as a power user. I have a strong understanding of all the fundamentals of Bitcoin and blockchain technology, but I have just dabbled in this new application layer. Now it’s time I actually take a truly deep dive.

During my exploration of this space I’ve discovered what draws me to it. Namely, decentralization of power and building personal wealth through technology. I have gotten a decent start and put myself in a good situation, but my actions thus far have been non-strategic and short sighted. Moving forward my focus will be on building sustainable and regenerative strategies to improve all aspects of my life.

I have found through my employment history, the positive energy I feel during work is directly correlated with how well the organization’s philosophy and motivations are aligned with my own. If I can align those, I will be prepared to create my best work.

Currently I work for a corporation that’s main mission is to bring technology jobs to “underdog” communities through education and apprenticeship. Where people of these communities will be able to  work on real world applications and have employment waiting for them after they finish their apprenticeship.

I work on the tech consulting side where we work with clients looking for development and maintenance of software. Overall, I feel good about working with this company because of their wholesome values. But In all honesty I don’t feel 100% satisfied working there because I’m not working with Ethereum.

Living in the United States gives me the constant reminder that institutions need to be incentivized correctly and public goods need to be available to its members to maintain healthy members. So I’d like to help support the infrastructure of what appears to be a new rise of alternative opt-in institutions I see sprouting up. The best way I can think to do that is to contribute to Ethereum public goods and services.

I can do that in a variety of ways . It’s going to require me to git gud, so I can create meaningful contributions. So I’m excited to see where I’m at in a year, but I need to remind myself to take it a day at a time.
